Since our inception in 1983, we've reached out to individual health care providers to help improve the lives of their patients and combat chronic illness. Along the way, our forward-thinking ideas, efforts, and commitments have had more far-reaching effects—from improving health care to serving the best interests of patients.
We think our dedicated staff of scientists, clinicians, and executives have a lot to be proud of. And we hope our accomplishments contribute to your success.
Shaping the Future of Health Care
Our dedication to improving patients' lives shows in everything we do. And educating health care providers on ways to manage—and even reverse—health conditions is an important part of that.
Practitioner Education & Certification—Our Programs
- We offer the only therapeutic lifestyle changes (TLC) certification program to help health care providers implement a turnkey program in any clinical setting to help reverse chronic illness..
- Our ongoing educational programs—including seminars (many offer CEUs), workshops, and webinars—are led by renowned opinion leaders like Jeffrey S. Bland, PhD.
- Our industry-exclusive, on-call staff of clinical specialists offer practitioners help with nutritional protocols and product questions in the U.S. and Canada.
Additional History of Practitioner Education, Certification & Licensing Support
- We are vocally and financially involved in licensing law activities, as well as in legislative actions at the federal and state level regulating what doctors can prescribe in the U.S.
- In 2004, our support helped make naturopathic physicians a recognized, licensed profession in CA.
- Support for education and licensing issues in Europe and Australia.
- Support for chiropractic and naturopathic colleges.
- Contributions to functional medicine education for licensed clinicians.
- Support for many industry organizations.
National Health Guidelines
- Key members of our Scientific Advisory Board have served in advisory roles or committee members for divisions of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and congressional health committees and hearings to make recommendations for preventive and therapeutic lifestyle approaches for chronic illness.
- In 2009, our Chief Science Officer Jeffrey S. Bland, PhD, was invited to a conference of experts sponsored by the NIH and the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry to help define the specific clinical laboratory tests to be accepted as insurance reimbursable screening tools for chronic conditions, such as metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. A much sought-after speaker, Dr. Bland also provided written and oral testimony during a U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee hearing on the role of integrative medicine and health care reform.
Protecting Freedom of Health Care Options
While we strongly support efforts to regulate natural product safety and integrity, we also strongly support those who challenge regulatory efforts aimed at limiting therapeutic options for patients. We've been active politically and have provided financial support for a number of the organizations that have worked for free access to health care choices. We're also members of several well-known organizations with honorable health freedom initiatives. And our executives have lobbied and made presentations on state and national levels to help protect patient access to trusted natural approaches.
Empowering Patients with Health Knowledge
Our mission is patient health. As our founder Jeff Katke once stated, "The patient's best interests must be served." It's been our guiding light. And a patient-centered approach to improving health or reversing chronic illness works better when the patient is fully informed.
