Jeff personally experienced the power of nutrition when it helped him recapture his health as a young man. That was all it took for him to set out on a mission to help others take charge of their health just like he did. His father Jim, mother Marie, his brothers Chris, Tim, and Mike and his sister Julie all caught his enthusiasm and joined the small business he started in Southern California. The family's passion for quality, dedication to helping to improve health, and tireless hard work were the driving force that led to founding Metagenics in 1983.
He's the leading force in the vision, mission, and strategic direction that made us one of the largest companies in our industry—proof of what a belief in doing the right thing for others can accomplish. And he doesn't just talk about a healthy lifestyle—he and his wife Kate, who is a fitness instructor, live it. Jeff, a competitive triathlete, is just as comfortable in the hills of San Clemente, California or Gig Harbor, Washington on his bike (which he's been known to ride to work) as he is on Capitol Hill lobbying for continued freedom and safety in health care options. He's led nutritional training courses and seminars for health care professionals throughout the world. Locally, Jeff, who also loves to swim and surf, lends his time and talent to help clean up the ocean where he serves on the advisory board for Miocean, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to cleaning up run-off pollution.
His siblings aren't the only ones who have worked at Metagenics—his kids (Brittany, Jennifer, Alli, Chris, and Stephanie) have all at one time or another worked in the business as well. And who knows…as soon as his young grandkids are able, they just might join us, too.
