Jeff is the primary reason our scientific advisory board is populated with so many world-renowned clinicians and scientists. He himself is a well-recognized practitioner, scientist, educator, and author.
He received his PhD in neurobiochemistry from the University of Oregon and his certification as a clinical laboratory director from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. After conducting nutritional research at the Linus Pauling Institute, he directed his entrepreneurial spirit to found the company that would eventually join us and evolve into the Gig Harbor campus you see today.
He is a pioneer in his own right, having coined the term "functional medicine" and employing established research methodology to integrate natural health principles in popular clinical practice. He continues a strong tradition of learning—through founding Bastyr University and the Institute for Functional Medicine, as well as his annual international seminar series on nutritional protocols for clinicians.
