Why do I need a nutritional supplement? Can't I get everything from my diet?
Unfortunately, no. Whole, natural foods are always the preferred source of vitamins and minerals, but most people don't get all of the nutrition they need from their diets. Why? Because they simply don't eat enough fruits and vegetables. Or they eat too many processed foods, which have low nutritional values. And as our farmland becomes more and more mineral-deficient, so does our food. This makes it more difficult to get the daily nutrients we all need. Certain lifestyle habits, health conditions, and medications can also deplete the body's nutrient stores or interfere with nutrient absorption. So nutritional supplements can help make up the difference. Some people may also require intake of key vitamins beyond what could be obtained through normal dietary measures.
