What are plant sterols?
Plant sterols (also known as phytosterols) are found naturally in a range of plant sources, such as vegetable oils, nuts, grains, and seeds. A typical American daily intake ranges from 200 mg to 400 mg per day, far below the NIH recommendations of 2 grams daily.
