Lyra has 35 years of expertise in complementary and alternative medicine. She is an author and co-founder of Metagenics, Inc., where she takes a leadership role in formula development and educating healthcare professionals on the benefits of combining natural systems of healing with conventional medical practice.

Dr. Jacob Kornberg, MD, completed his medical degree and four-year surgical residency at the University of California, Irvine. After serving two years in the United States Navy as a surgeon, he established a successful general surgery practice in Puyallup, Washington. He then began to incorporate functional medicine into his surgical practice, which he decided to give up completely in 2003 and opened an integrated, holistic medical clinic in Federal Way, Washington. Dr. Kornberg is currently the director of professional and clinical services at the Metagenics Functional Medicine Research CenterSM (FMRC) in Gig Harbor, Washington.
