Summary:

Dietary inducement of ketosis has been used as a modality for weight management for decades. Recently this approach has garnered significant attention and an increase in adherents, based partly on new evidence in the literature, and lay press, of its value and overall positive health impacts in certain applications. In this interactive workshop, our speakers will lead you on a deep dive into this fascinating topic as they explore the history of ketogenic diets and its science and how to incorporate a ketogenic lifestyle in appropriate patient management plans.

Presenter Bio:

Robert G. Silverman, DC, DACBN, DCBCN, MS, CCN, CNS, CSCS, CIISN, CKTP, CES, HKC, SASTM

Dr. Robert Silverman is an honors graduate of the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic and holds a master’s degree in Human Nutrition. Dr. Silverman is a Diplomate of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition and the Chiropractic Board of Clinical Nutrition and practices in White Plains, NY. He is on the advisory board for the Functional Medicine University and speaks widely at professional events as an expert in Functional Nutrition. Dr. Silverman appears regularly as a health commentator on Fox News Radio, Fox & Friends, CBS News, and other media outlets.

Christopher Keroack, MD, IFMCP

Dr. Christopher Keroack is the Medical Director at the New England Center for Functional Medicine in Springfield, MA, where he strives for excellence in lifestyle, integrative, and medical approaches to weight loss. Dr. Keroack has been a leading expert in weight loss and healthy living in Western Massachusetts since 1998.

Dr. Keroack is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Bariatric (weight management) Medicine. He received his formal education from Amherst College, Springfield College, and Tufts University School of Medicine. In addition to his formal training, he has obtained certifications in Functional Medicine, Age Management Medicine, and Naturopathic and Integrative Medicine from the Institute of Functional Medicine as well as The Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation for Age Management Medicine. He has spoken both nationally and internationally on weight loss, nutrition, fitness, and Functional Medicine. His combination of experience and training has enabled him to develop a comprehensive approach to optimizing health, wellness, and vitality.
