Brent Eck

Brent Eck
President
Chief Executive Officer

Brent Eck was named President & Chief Executive Officer of Metagenics, Inc., in November 2015. In this role, Mr. Eck is responsible for driving the Company’s global growth strategy and maintaining its position as the leader in science-based nutrition. Mr. Eck has over 15 years of domestic and international sales and marketing and general management expertise.

Before joining Metagenics, Inc., Mr. Eck held the role of Executive Vice President for the nutrition and specialty injectable businesses in North America at Fresenius Kabi, a $6.2B global healthcare company that specializes in lifesaving medicines and technologies for infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition. In this role, he launched the U.S. clinical nutrition business and led Sales & Marketing for specialty injectables, growing the business and playing a critical role in surpassing revenue goals through a compelling rebranding campaign and streamlining product launch processes. Over the past decade, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in various global geographies of the company.

Mr. Eck received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Loyola University Chicago.

 

Paul E. Konney
Executive Vice President
General Counsel and Head of Global Regulatory Affairs

Paul E. Konney has served as General Counsel of Metagenics, Inc., since 2005 and has led Global Regulatory Affairs since 2006. Prior to joining, he was General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of three publicly traded Fortune 500 companies: Tambrands, Inc., (now part of Procter & Gamble), Quaker State Corporation (now part of Royal Dutch Shell), and The Estée Lauder Companies, Inc. Mr. Konney began his career at the New York City law firm of Debevoise & Plimpton.

Mr. Konney represents Metagenics, Inc., on the Board of the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN). He has also served on the International Policy Committee of the United States Chamber of Commerce and the Forum for US-EU Legal-Economic Affairs. He is also a member of the American Bar Association’s Committee of Corporate General Counsel.

Mr. Konney holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Harvard University and his law degree (Juris Doctor) from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was an Officer of the Law Review. Following law school, Mr. Konney served as law clerk to the Chief Judge of the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

 

Allison K. Musetich
Executive Vice President
Chief Human Resources Officer

Allison K. Musetich was named Chief Human Resources Officer for Metagenics, Inc., in March 2015. She joined the company in January 2014 as Vice President of Human Resources. In this role, Ms. Musetich serves as Executive Partner to the Compensation Committee and the Board of Directors and prepares the company’s strategy for short and long-term pay-for-performance compensation plans, advising equity/stock granting practices, and overseeing administration. She has over 20 years of human resources experience, providing strategic direction to the leadership of high-growth international companies focused on mergers and acquisitions.

Before joining Metagenics, Inc., Ms. Musetich was the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Mindspeed Technologies, Inc., a developer of semiconductor solutions for communications applications in wireless and wireline network infrastructure markets. Prior to her association with Mindspeed, she served as Vice President, Human Resources at Lantronix, Inc. She has also held senior positions at leading global companies, including Quiksilver, Inc., Cendant Corporation, and The Boeing Company.

Ms. Musetich received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Business Administration in Global Business from Pepperdine University.

 

 

Regional Executive Team

Paul Coussement
Vice President, Europe

Paul Coussement has served as Vice President of Europe for Metagenics, Inc., since August 2007. In this role, he managed the expansion of Metagenics Belgium from a family-owned local distributor to a pan-European organization, spanning Metagenics Europe, Metagenics Netherlands, Metagenics Italy, and distributors in several additional European countries.

Before joining Metagenics, Inc., Mr. Coussement was CEO of the Orafti Group (now known as BENEO Group and part of the Südzucker Group) from 2002-2007. Before his appointment, he held numerous roles of increasing responsibility from 1988-2002. This group became famous with the creation of a worldwide business in specialty food ingredients, such as inulin and oligofructose.

Mr. Coussement has extensive experience in the creation and marketing of foods, food ingredients, and food supplements with added health benefits. He played a key role in the creation of novel health concepts, such as “prebiotics” and “synbiotics”, which have now become standard nutrition concepts worldwide. He is, and has been, highly active in the European and Belgian food industry associations.

Mr. Coussement received his Master of Industrial Management degree from the University of Leuven. Prior to that, he graduated as Engineer in Food Chemistry from the same university. He is currently a fellow of the IMD Program for Executive Development at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.

 

Sue Hogan
Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific

Sue Hogan has served as the Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific for Metagenics, Inc., since October 2013. In this role, she is responsible for the company’s Asia and Africa operations. Since 2015, she was named CEO & Managing Director of Health World Limited.

Ms. Hogan has 25 years of executive commercial leadership experience with extensive involvement in business transition and integration, strategic planning supporting brand equity, and organizational development. Her experience includes roles leading the Australian & New Zealand Pfizer Consumer Healthcare operations prior to their global acquisition by Johnson & Johnson. Ms. Hogan then led the consumer healthcare businesses for Johnson & Johnson in Australia before moving over to spearhead the Hong Kong operation. She also headed the Nordic region, based out of Stockholm, Sweden.

Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Ms. Hogan held marketing roles of increasing responsibility in Australia and the United States with Warner-Lambert (acquired by Pfizer in 2000), and prior to that, Allergan.

Ms. Hogan holds a Master of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Canberra.

 
Todd Crane
General Manager, North America

Todd Crane was named General Manager, North America of Metagenics, Inc. in October 2016. In this role, Mr. Crane oversees all of the teams that make up North America Operations, which include Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Distribution, Finance & IT. Mr. Crane is responsible for developing the strategy to deliver long-term, sustainable growth for the North America business. Mr. Crane joined Metagenics in 2014, where he most recently served as Senior Director of Finance, IT and Logistics for North America. Mr. Crane brings 20 years of experience in leading cross-functional teams in the areas of Operations Planning & Finance, Long-Term Strategic Planning, Business Plan Development and Financial Planning & Analysis and has been instrumental in Metagenics’ efforts to take back control of distribution, bringing a deep understanding to our commercial results, driving measurable improvements in commercial operations, and spearheading the creation of new and exciting tools for Metagenics customers.

Prior to joining Metagenics, Inc., Mr. Crane held the role of Director of Finance in various organizations within The Walt Disney Company, where he led bi-coastal teams located in California and Florida supporting the operating lines of business for all six theme parks.  Over the course of his 15 years with Disney, Mr. Crane has held positions of increasing responsibility in developing short and long-term strategic plans and leading the execution of initiatives that yielded positive financial results.

Mr. Crane received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology.
